2022 is here and we don’t know if we should be scared or relieved! The past few years have been a constant rollercoaster ride and no one knows what 2022 will have in store for us. Luckily every new year also comes with the opportunity to do things differently. To grab new opportunities and to overcome new challenges.

Although it might not be fun to leave the days of lounging and relaxing in December, the time to get back to business is here! And what better time to brighten up your office space than a new year! We have some great office pieces in store for you! Here are a few tips to style up your office, wherever it may be!

Getting up early and sitting in early morning traffic may not be the ideal start to anyone’s day, but if you know a stylish office space is waiting for you, a spark of excitement may be ignited. Looking professional in both personal appearance and your office space, is of the utmost importance when it comes to running a successful business.

Creating a space that is therefore both comfortable and professional, is the key when you are decorating your office space. The first step would be to make sure you have a desk that provides optimal chances for organisation and efficiency. When working in a normal office space, you should have a reliable desk that can fulfil all your productivity needs.

Meetings are also an important part of any office and hopefully we can look forward to meetings moving from the digital space to an in person format again. Hosting meetings with clients, the hype of a Monday morning team meeting or doing interviews with prospective employees. This means that your boardroom should be geared with only the best. A good boardroom table should be stylish, yet functional. Small enough to not make a room feel cramped, but large enough to fit your team comfortably.

With these style tips, your office should be ready for action in no time!

  1. Get your home office work-ready

Working from a home office is something increasingly more people either prefer to do or are obligated to do since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. When working from home, it is important to make sure that you have a dedicated workspace, in order to reproduce the productivity you would have had in a traditional office space.

One of the key factors when planning your work space, is to make sure that you are comfortable enough that you will work effectively, but not so comfortable that you just want to switch off your computer and binge a show on Netflix. The perfect office chair will solve this problem for you in no time! The qualities of a good office chair is something that looks professional, that means not something that you can also use during a braai. It should also support your back and should not be bigger than the desk you are working at.

Lighting is another important element when it comes to your home work space. Natural light is always the best option, but when that option is not available to you, make sure that you invest in a large standing lamp and use warm coloured bulbs. They decrease your chance of getting headaches and a standing lamp gives you a better range of light, then just a normal desk lamp.

If you can tick off all these tips, you are on your way to a great looking and great functioning home office space.

  1. No space, no problem

Space can be a key challenge when it comes to working from home. Even some traditional offices have very limited space available and that can have a big impact on productivity and effectiveness. The key when working in a space… with little space is choosing your furniture wisely. Small, compact desks are the way to go. They are a great option, because they are usually stylish and look great in a modern space.

A smaller space may initially sound like a negative, but it can actually motivate you to be more productive. Big offices tend to only be wasted space and usually we just fill it with unnecessary clutter. That is not possible when you work in a smaller space. You have to utilise the space you have effectively. Adding a mirror to a small office space is also a great idea. Mirrors help to make a space seem bigger than it actually is and it helps to create an effective flow of light in the room.
