PAYMENT METHODS
CURRENCY & VAT
Essops Home is a South African based company and hence, items are sold in South African Rands (ZAR) and include 15% VAT.
All major credit and debit cards, as well as EFT payments, are accepted. In the case of EFT payments, proof of payment must be forwarded to the relevant store. Please allow 3 business days for the receipt of EFT funds to be confirmed. Goods will only be released for collection or delivery once the receipt of funds has been confirmed.
We also offer lay-byes up to 6 months interest-free. Payment for products collected from the store must be made in full before the product leaves the store. The product remains the property of Essops until payment is received in full
We also accept payments through Instant EFT’s and Payflex on the online portal.

ERRORS & OMISSIONS ON PRICING
While Essops Home strives for accuracy in pricing, errors or omissions may still occur. In the event of a pricing error or omission, Essops Home reserves the right to correct the error and amend the pricing accordingly. Customers will be notified of any such corrections or adjustments . We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

VOUCHER VALIDITY
Vouchers are valid only for the period as stipulated on the voucher. Vouchers can only be redeemed in-store. Vouchers are not refundable. Unfortunately, lost vouchers cannot be replaced.

CONDITIONS OF LAY-BUY
– Ensure a copy of the original document or previous payment receipt is available when payment is made
– Payments towards lay-buy can be made at any of the essops stores nationwide
– Payments can also be made via ‘EFT’ into Essops banking account
– Please ensure the beneficiary reference has the order number stipulated which can be attained from the original Lay-bye note.
– Stock will only be released on an own collection or delivered with a logistic cost once full payment is made.
– Lay-buy only secures the price , and does not reserve stock.
– No stock will be reserved until fully paid.
– Regular monthly payments must be maintained during the period of the lay-buy
– Own collection after the lay-buy is fully paid will only be released on presentation of the original order document either by the owner or his/her representative. ( a valid identity document of the person collecting must be produced)
CONDITION OF DISPLAYED PRODUCTS
If the subject matter of the sale is the particular product that is on display in the Essops showroom as viewed by the customer, then the product is sold to the customer in the specific condition in which it is and the customer agrees to accept the relevant product in that condition.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Essops will not be liable for damages that may be suffered by the customer as a result of gross negligence or a willful or intentional act or omission
COLOUR DESCRIPTIONS & UNIQUE FEATURES
While every effort is made to ensure that the product you buy, including wood, fabric and leather products, corresponds as closely as possible to the sample shown in our stores or on our website, slight differences may occur. We regret that no responsibility can be accepted for variations which add to the unique characteristics of each product.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Selected products are advertised on the Essops website (www.essops.co.za ). Most of these products are displayed and available in Essops stores. Details of all our stores appear on the Essops website. The availability of any of the products can be confirmed with their preferred store.
The colour, texture and composition of fabric may vary from that of the swatch or the products displayed in store or on our website due to dye lot variations and upholstery processes.

The following may occur in leather products:

Colour variations may occur due to multiple hides required to make up the product
Marks, tick bite scars, scratches, stretch marks and scuff marks are characteristic of full grain leather and are therefore not defects. Prominent brand marks may also be visible and are not considered defects. Solid timber products may have natural markings, cracks and colour variations due to the nature of the product; these are the characteristics of a natural product and not defects or signs of damage.
Some products are made from reclaimed and/or recycled materials and will therefore have markings, colour variations, scratches and dents.
These products may also have holes, nails and metal caps inconsistently visible on the product, due to the fact that materials have been recycled or reclaimed from their original use and are often hand crafted. The characteristics mentioned are not defects or signs of damage.
Outdoor hanging chairs carry a 150kg weight restriction; please refer to product information in store or from our customer care department in order to prevent a possible hazard.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS AND MAINTENANCE
Care instructions and maintenance advice regarding the use and application of products are provided for all products.
Fabric Care
- The quicker you tackle a stain, the easier it is to remove.
- Use a stiff natural bristle brush to loosen dirt and debris from the entire sofa
- Before cleaning your sofa, use a handheld vacuum to remove loose dirt, crumbs, and debris.
Leather Care
At Essops Home, we value the unique character of each full-grain leather hide. These natural markings – wrinkles, scars, and striations – tell the story of the leather's origin and enhance its beauty. Rest assured, these markings are not defects but hallmarks of quality.
- To maintain even wear and prevent uneven appearance, rotate your seating positions regularly.
- Spills should be dabbed immediately with a soft, absorbent and dry cloth.
- Vacuum or dust frequently
- Wipe clean & dry with soft cloths.
- Clean the entire sofa and not spot clean
- Never use detergents to clean leather.
- Leather finish is sensitive to light. Please keep away from windows and areas with direct sunlight.
Steel or objects with components of waxed or raw steel
- Wipe spills & dust regularly: Use a damp cloth (not soaking) with mild soap & water. Dry thoroughly.
- Avoid harsh cleaners: Skip steel wool, abrasive cleaners, and detergents. Opt for window cleaner or a gentle multi-purpose cleaner for tougher dirt.
- Prevent rust: Don't leave liquids on the surface. Wax annually with a colourless wax to maintain its shine and resist rust.
- Be sun smart: Steel heats up in the sun. Consider placement and avoid leaving it in direct sunlight for extended periods
Wood
Wood is a natural material that breathes, expanding and contracting slightly with changes in humidity and temperature. This natural movement may cause minor cracks to appear over time, adding to the unique character of your solid wood piece
- Dust regularly.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth (avoid soaking).
- Skip harsh chemicals: No wax, oil, detergents, or abrasive cleaners.
- Avoid direct sunlight (Including through glass windows)
- Wipe up spills and water immediately to prevent stains or damage.
Stone Care
Composite stone (including quartz, concrete, terrazzo & fossil) offers a beautiful, consistent look with less porosity than natural stone. However, it's still susceptible to oil stains, so prompt cleaning is key.
- Clean spills ASAP: Wipe up liquids immediately to prevent staining.
- Avoid oils & harsh cleaners: Don't leave oil-based products on the surface and skip abrasive cleaners.
- Wipe gently: Use a soft cloth for daily cleaning. Mild, pH-balanced detergent is okay for tough messes, but wipe away residue to avoid streaks.
Glass
- Handle with care: Glass is delicate. Avoid placing heavy or sharp objects directly on it. Consider using felt pads for added protection.
- Cleaning made easy: Wipe clean with a wet cloth. For polished glass, window cleaning products are safe to use.
- Avoid scratches: Remove jewellery before cleaning to prevent accidental scratches.
- Skip the paper towels: Opt for a lint-free cloth to avoid leaving residue on the glass surface.
Lounge Care
At Essops Home, we take pride in offering high-quality furniture designed for durability. To give you peace of mind, we provide a warranty on specific components of your lounge:
Coverage Includes:
Framework: We offer a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase for the lounge's framework, which covers defects in materials and workmanship.
Workmanship: This includes stitching, seat filling, and springs. Workmanship is covered for 1 year for any issues related to assembly.
Mechanism (if applicable): If your lounge features a reclining or other moving mechanism it is covered for 1 year against defects.
Exclusions:
Fabric and Leather: The warranty does not cover fabric or leather due to natural wear and tear from regular use. To prolong the life of your upholstery, please adhere to the provided care instructions.
Normal Wear and Tear: The warranty does not cover fading, minor scratches, or stretching resulting from everyday use.
Maintaining Your Lounge:
To help extend the life of your lounge and avoid potential warranty claims, we recommend following the care instructions specific to your fabric or leather.

LAY-BUY REFUNDS
You will need to provide the original Lay-Bye Note / Receipt. If you no longer have your original till slip, bring a copy of your ID / Driver’s License. Only the slip holder can cancel a lay-by. A 10% cancellation fee will be raised on canceled orders (delivery is billed separately)
DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
Any defects noted after delivery should be photographed and reported to an Essops sales consultant and/or Customer Care via
WhatsApp on 067 196 5757, or email cs@essops.co.za
If goods are defective the customer can return them if reported to Essops Customer Service within 72 hours from the date of delivery. provided the goods have been used for their intended purpose and that applicable care instructions have been followed.
Please contact the store where you purchased it within 48 hours of receiving the product to discuss further steps. Please do not use the product if you have identified a problem. Defective products are replaced at our discretion. However, nothing in these terms and conditions affect your statutory rights in the unlikely event that the goods do not meet a standard required by law.
